So folks, I'm still on the fence about healing, faith and miracles. From what I understand, in the past where we didn't have a clue of how the body works, if someone was healed from a illness, it might be labeled a “miracle.”  What we do not understand in general, even today, can be quickly labeled as a miracle.  As science progresses, we develop explanations to what was previously unknown. The mysticism and wonder dissipates in light of scientific understanding and causal explanations.

Yet there are hundreds, if not thousands, of stories about spontaneous healing.  Here is a great example in recent news that got me thinking:  http://starbulletin.com/2008/04/30/news/story08.html.  Now, are all these modern examples of healings explainable by science?  Or can these be occurrences outside the boundaries of our natural laws, of cause-and-effect?

I really wonder.  On one side, I would say that even these miracles may someday be understood to be nothing more than the body's natural healing mechanism on high.  On the other side, maybe there is a divine being that is purposely and intimately altering reality.

What do you think?
